Wonderful provider who listens, provides options, and helps the patient make an informed decision together.
Excellent physician.
Dr Barad is the most compassionate, gets it, listens and quickly assess a plan — I have kaiser HMO and they said my disease too rare, I researched and found out about Dr Barad and waited 3 mos to see her and she devised a great plan to treat my Erythromelalgia that no dr at Kaiser had in 3 mos. She is not only brilliant she cares and take action and provides clear info and options and explains things and truly cares. Stanford is lucky to have Dr Barad, she saves lives, I had NO hope and now I have a treatment plan and a Dr who is partnering with me and my HMO to get me help for my disease. I’m so grateful for Dr Barad and stanford . Best Dr and hospital in the world Thank you Dr Barad for your time, expertise and care. Kindest regards Heidi
Dr Barad is fabulous - she is clear, easy to understand, knows her domain and is compassionate. I appreciate having such a comptent doctor on my medical care team.
Dr Barad listens well and is very thoughtful and proactive about my treatment plan. I appreciate that she takes my pain and the impacts of it seriously and is working with me to better manage my disease. She also has been very responsive to my messages and questions, which I appreciate.
I’ve been seeing Dr. Barad for about 2 years now for an unusual nerve pain behind my R ear. I’ve had this pain since I was a child. The first time I met with Dr. Barad I thought she was compassionate and kind, and wanted to help me. But this time I felt she didn’t care to be on the call, rushed through the visit, downplayed my pain and basically told me there’s nothing more she could do for me. I was very disappointed in the visit I had with her this time around.
She has been very helpful and made some good suggestions. I look forward to receiving her follow ip information about adding some neck strengthening to my exercise program.
Dr. Barad was very detailed in the questions she asked me about my previous PNS trial and my current pain level. She seemed genuinely concerned about my pain and whether going forward with implanting a permanent PNS would be sufficient for me. I appreciate that reviewed my previous MRI and has referred me for another more extensive MRI before proceeding with any further procedures.
She’s very nice and very helpful
Patient, clear, pleasant, competent.

She's very responsive, clear, answered all my questions.
Dr. Barad’s recommendation of an Occipital Nerve Block has helped very much. I have seen many doctors over the years and this is the first time it was recommended. I am very grateful.
I felt very heard with lots of possibilities and ideas for future care.
Dr. Barad has been my neurologist for years. She is the best neurologist I’ve had over 35+ years of neurology health care. Not only is Dr. Barad clinically excellent, but treats me as a true partner in my health care. She shares advancements in medicine relevant to my health care, explains the reason(s) for her clinical recommendations, is compassionate and empathetic, and personable. I’m very grateful for her exceptional care, and for SHC.
Dr. Barad appeared to be smart and was concerned. She took time to think and to explore my issues completely.

I have been a patient of hers for many years, and she has always shown a great deal of care and thought into finding solutions for my pain related to chronic migraines. I am grateful to be one of her patients. I find Dr Barad to be a thoughtful, incredibly smart, and caring doctor who takes time to explain the issues surrounding my pain/migraines. (I currently have a pain level 7 migraine, and am having difficulty articulating - otherwise, I would write more).
Very easy to talk to and appreciated her understanding of my situation.
I've done a lot of testing to try to identify my problem and she is the first doctor I've spoken with who had a plan and seemed to understand the mechanism of my headache problem.

I am so grateful to have Dr Barad as my doctor. She is a great clinician and has been present, patient and an excellent advisor and resource as I navigate a complicated medical condition involving consultation and treatment by specialists from two other major medical centers. She is caring and compassionate and I can’t say enough good things about her.
Excellent physician
I liked her manner. Unfortunately, there were no answers for my pain. She’s Going. To coordinate with my PCP so I appreciate that.
Dr. Barad is an excellent and attentive doctor.
It was an all around good experience
Dr Barad and Dr Shah were so compassionate and knowledgeable!!
Dr. Barad listened and provided thoughtful feedback. Dr. Barad gave me helpful TMD exercises and increased my dose of Gabapentin. Dr. Barad gave me the name of a periodontist. I'm not sure if I will work with this person because he is an out-of-network provider and quite costly. I have been experiencing mouth pain since May and I'm looking for a cohesive plan to address my pain. I have ongoing discomfort in my mouth and I'm frightened because I can't make it stop. I read the book The Way Out by Alan Gordon, LCSW, of the Pain Psychology Center in LA and I would like to know if I'm experiencing neuroplastic pain. I'm trying to use the strategies from this book to feel better. I'm interested in participating in Stanford's Clinical research and I hope to have an earlier appointment with a Stanford Pain Psychologist. Right now the earliest I can get an appointment is late November. Thank you for all you do to help people with pain management. I'm eager to feel better.

I felt Dr. Barad and her intern Kyle (sorry I forget his last name) were both very professional, compassionate and thorough. I appreciate that Dr. Barad didn’t just try to push a bunch of pharmaceuticals on me and is willing to start conservative treatment first.

She was very pleasant and easy to talk with.
As I said she is the best!!!
She is a really good care provider. She is always focused on troubleshooting and providing care options. Other specialists I see do not spend as much time providing options and helping me find solutions. I always appreciate that about her.
She clearly is very passionate about her job her patients and my well-being
Dr. Barad is the best. I can't imagine more useful, productive, compassionate care from any other Doctor. She, alone, has been most instrumental with diminishing my chronic pain for the past few years.
Incredible skill and bedside manner, thorough, health partner, compassionate
She's excellent, highly skilled and very good bedside manner. Enjoy working with her a lot.
Very professional and through.
I like that they took the time to hear about what is going on with me vs jumping into telling me what is wrong with me without asking much
Dr. Barad helped me understand issues that happened 35 years ago. She also made suggestions, and thoroughly explained each one.
She seems great.
Dr Barad sounds like a caring and experienced doctor but she joined after my long talk to Dr Foster first and some info didnt get passed to dr Barad so I had to repeat myself a few times.
Very pleased with her. Although I live a good 75 minutes away, I have kept her. I think the entire office is very helpful. I am able to get both Botox and Aimovig on Medicare. Although I understand if I wished to stop Aimovig and try something else, Medicare would not let me return
She has been wonderful and supportive
The best of the best
She was thoughtful, asked very good questions and was empathetic. I appreciate all her time. I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to get an appointment with her.
She is a good listener and I appreciate that she is taking my issues seriously and willing to try more options.
Very professional, knowledgeable, and understanding
Excellent doctor, always excellent every visit!!
Friendly and knowledgeable.
I just would like to extend my appreciation of having the opportunity to be Dr Barad’s patient. Before being under her care, my migraines were out of control despite having worked with a myriad of doctors. I struggled just to hold down a job and make it through a day without reverberating from the pain. Under her guidance I have been able to excel at my work again... enjoying a 9 year run at Apple followed by 5+ years at Adobe. Dr. Barad is technically brilliant, continually learning the cutting edge in pain management and humble / compassionate in her bed side matter. Thank you for employing such an exemplary doctor. She is indeed a blessing.
she is extremely good. she took her time, asked thoughtful questions, listened well, made great suggestions.
Dr Barad is very caring and show emphathy to patients. She understand what I’ve been going through.
She is an excellent migraine specialist. Because I am a chronic pain patient, it cannot all go smoothly but she has knocked herself out to give me information, medication, and provide answers when she sees I AM frustrated
Excellent Dr
Doctor Barad is a very good, caring doctor.
Dr. Barad is excellent!!!
Dr. Barad is fantastic, I trust her implicitly.
Dr Barad is one of the best doctors I've ever had. My condition is chronic, painful, and doesn't respond easily to medication, but she never gives up, and always has new ideas to try. It makes me feel really cared for and like someone is in my corner.
this was my first time meeting Dr. Derby, I was so very impressed with his care and concern for my issues.
Really good & caring.
Very good visit w/Dr. Barad - understood feed back from her & trust the path moving forward.
Dr. Barad could not do a better job. She involves me, answers questions, is up to date, clear, concise & caring.
I like Dr. Barad, however... She abruptly told me that I am at the end of options for the treatment of my concussion and suggested that I make any future appointments with her NP (or her). She was getting frustrated with me for asking about other possible options or treatments. Maybe she was just having a bad day, however I am having a bad day, every day, with headaches and dizziness.
I was sure to schedule my next procedure with Dr. Barad because of her great care.
There never seems like enough time for the very complex condition I have. Doctor tries to fit all my questions in and is very respectful.
Dr. Barad is the best! She is thoughtful, scientific and understanding. She always has a new idea to try when my medication isn't working.
Dr. Barad is truly the best! She's kind, caring, & listens & works WITH me re: the treatments. AND she's incredibly knowledgeable/expert neurologist. She is a true asset to Stanford. I will not schedule w/anyone else. She cares about how I'm doing personally.
Not a great "bedside manner". Became heated when I questioned treatment plan. Curt demeanor. Overall, not a very pleasant experience.
Dr. Meredith Barad rocks!
Dr. Barad is excellent in every way. That's why I keep returning. I only wish I lived closer so that I could have more regular follow-up visits.
Dr. Barad is extremely caring and compassionate. I'm frustrated that I can't see Dr. Carroll directly for a csf leak. He often provides new info or contradictory information when I see him before the procedures.
Dr. Barad is a superstar! Other than being TOTALLY competent, she is great listener, clear communicator an always responsive to messages via My Health.
The most trust I've ever had in a doctor - And for good reason. Dr. Barad is thorough & efficient, warm & upbeat, and completely concerned & thoroughly helpful & informative.
Still has not sent - or called - in my meds.
Dr. Barad is very helpful and squeezed me into her schedule when I needed to see her.
The doctor was kind and knowledgeable. She approached treatment from different angles and expressed desire to follow up.
Dr. Barad is the BEST! Dr. Barad is so kind & caring. I also trust her clinical judgment implicitly. She's very observant & listens to me. She's referred me to PT when I needed to go for my neck & even addressed me to get a red area on my cheek checked by a dermatologist. Thankfully because it is a pre-cancerous skin condition.
Dr. Barad is completely thorough with me, and takes all the time needed to answer my questions, or make suggestions. She never makes me feel rushed. She has a marvelous manner about her, and is most efficient. I feel completely blessed to have her as a physician!
Dr. Barad is one of the best doctors I have ever seen. She is so kind and always friendly. She takes time to listen to me about what is working and what isn't with regard to my care. She shows genuine concern for my pain and is determined to help me manage it better. She is also very thorough when it comes to explaining different medications and medical procedures and I never feel rushed even though I know she is very busy.
Dr. Barad is excellent and does the best botox shots. She really listens to her patients and cares.
Dr. Barad helped me get a procedure done quickly when I needed it.
Dr. Barad is the reason I have control of my migraines and because of this, freedom & comfort in my life. Her approach humanizes what would otherwise be a scary and lonely experience struggling through migraines. She provides details, explanations, and options that put the patient in the driver's seat. I love her!
very considerate of the pain and hearing me.
Horrible provider. She showed zero concern for my issues, questions or concerns. She was rude and clearly dishonest, as exemplified by her claims. Please feel free to follow up with me to discuss further. She had her answers ready before she even walked into the room.
Dr. Barad was excellent at communicating clearly, addressing my needs, and finding solutions, and being supportive.
My doctor has inspired a sense of trust that I've rarely, if ever, had with a physician.
Note: In addition to the above Dr. Barad and her staff went out of their way to arrange a test for me at the same clinic for an UNRELATED medical issue (travel related) that otherwise would have required an ER visit!
Barad demonstrated that she couldn't care less that her patients are suffering as a result of her disorganized clinic. She was rude and obnoxious, and didn't apologize a single time. She snapped at me and told me I was free to leave (which I did since I had already waited 90 minutes for my 15-minute procedure).
Dr. Barad was very insensitive, quick to judge and "shut my concerns". She also was very rude, and blamed me for 'not being cooperative" years ago which was incorrect and out of line!
I feel I am hard & included I've always been given all the time & attention I've needed to address my questions and situation.
Dr. Barad is exceptional - her attention to the patient and her medical care are superb!
I feel I'm in expert hands with Dr. Barad.

I've been seeing Dr. Barad for probably around 4 years now. Her tenacity and determination to help me find a way to have a better quality of life and return to work by way of going back to school has been beyond words. She is an excellent physician that doesn't give up and goes out of her way to help. I'm grateful. Especially since after 18 years I am getting some relief right before moving & school. Thank you, Dr. Meredith!

Dr. Barad is incredible. She couldn't not be greater. She explains everything and makes sure to answer all my questions. I never feel rushed. I've had headaches every day for almost 5 years and have been to many Dr.'s at the best places and Dr. Barad tops all of them. She REALLY LISTENS; more than any of the other Dr.'s and I think cares more than any of the other Dr.'s I've seen.
Very good at listening and answering questions.
Dr. Barad provides the highest level of professional care. I appreciate her patience, clinical expertise and warmth.
Dr. Barad is the best neurologist I have ever seen, and one of the best doctors I have ever seen. She has the golden combination of excellent bedside manner and top notch medical skills/knowledge. That's a hard combo to find.

Dr. Barad was wonderful! Very friendly, set out a great treatment pan for me, which my previous headache specialist had not done. It was a VERY good appt.!
Dr. Barad is one of the finest doctors I have ever met. She is extremely knowledgeable, intelligent & caring.
Doctor was not knowledgeable about my other health conditions. Nor was she interested in hearing about them. She dismissed the research in two cases of other treatments I was doing by & doctors DO (& chiropractor) & ND.
Dr. Barad has assisted me with headache management as well as other neuro issues. Always courteous & helpful.
Dr. said she was very busy and couldn't respond to my questions in detail online. Aren't there nurses or assistants to help drs. respond to patient e-mails?
Emailed questions and concerns prior to appointment but they were not addressed.
Dr. Barad is the best care provider I have been associated. Reduced pain incidents by 80%.
At my first visit getting to know the Dr. Barad she stated for me to "listen" to her while she spoke partially to me and the NP/PA - then I'd get my turn, to which I did that. However, when it was my turn she was too hurried up, did not listen to me well - and any doctor who can sum-up 8 yrs. and 4 cancers in 15 min. is a doctor I don't want to see anymore!
Dr. Barad is the ultimate professional.
Dr. Barad is a very good doctor and I completely trust her knowledge on headaches which is why I have stayed. I would have trouble recommending her because it is impossible to call the office or make appointments and when you get an appointment she's always very late.
Dr. Barad has been a caring, concerned & outstanding physician.
I'm very picky, but Dr Barad has exceeded my expectations. She takes me seriously show a lot of concern, and squeezed me into her schedule in same week for worse symptoms and spent plenty of time with he at that time though it wasn't really an appointment.
Dr. Barad is in high demand - she is one of the best neurologists in the United States, and she always makes sure to give her full focus and knows everything about my medical history during my appointments. I saw many neurologists before seeing her and I trust her care and her depth of knowledge.

Prefer more information/explanation about medications prescribed & of reason for lab/imaging exam authorized.

Dr. McCawley & Dr. Barad are just wonderful. I wish everyone could be under their care.
Dr. Barad is quite possibly the finest physician I have ever worked with. She possesses a rare amalgamation of: high technical competence, genuine empathy for her patients & a fervent passion for discovery in the neurological sciences.
I love Dr. Barad. She is the best.
The doctor seems to have diagnosed the problem after visiting many other doctors. Very grateful.
Can't get anyone to review medical history before appt. (Not only Stanford!) Why not? Much confusion over getting written evals. sent to me.
Dr. Barad was exceptional. No complaints about her except the accessibility to see her.
Much of the time with Barad involved discussions of experiences with & strategies with meds. Our interactions were intense.
Was good.
Overall good experience.
Dr. Barad always makes sure that both myself & care-provider understand treatment phone & medications.
I was very happy about this visit - all went well.
